Val and Nicole had a fabulous wedding in Tulum, Mexico and I was lucky enough to be there. Everything was perfect to frame this awesome couple. Val and Nicole are completely crazy about each other and it is so inspiring photographing people in love. They had a intimate tea ceremony and an amazing beach wedding. It was so cool to hang out with Nicole and Val's family and guests, everybody was so great I felt like I was among old friends. We went for some night portraits on the wedding day and we did a beautiful trashing the dress on the day after. I loved every bit of this wedding and I wish Nicole and Val all the happiness and love. This very handsome family lives currently in Halifax but they soon will move to Antigonish. I met Shiobhann, Ryan and the cuties Bethany and Ryan to do a family session that we have been planning for a while. I was really excited to meet the MacDougalls. We started shooting at the Business building at STFX. For the outdoors shots we found this super colorful barn. Ryan and Bethany were adorable and it was really fun to hang out with them. It was great that Al joined us to entertain the kids.

I love photographing people in love and this is why I had a blast photographing this anniversary session in Victoria. Dave and Georgie are taking some time off to travel and this photoshoot was done just a couple days before they left for their adventure. Last time I heard from this couple they were very busy on a safari trip and diving with sharks in South Africa. Georgie is an amazing photographer and it was really great to see her in front of the camera for a change. I wish them a super happy anniversary and I can't wait to listen all about their super cool trip next time we get together!

I had such a lovely photo session with the Kell family at their property at Cape George. It was such a beautiful and warm day, Elizabeth, Robb, Liam, Luke and Maura were so much fun. It was a great day to hang around the beach with their super cute dog Tildy. The kids are great athletes so they didn't have any trouble climbing rocks or jumping on command. Very cool to hang with this troupe on a lazy Sunday!

Love is sweet and so was shooting this amazing wedding in Victoria. Laura and Kevin's wedding was so full of joy, love and happiness. I don't need to mention I love Laura so much! She is an awesome photographer and one of my best friends. I couldn't be happier to see her so beautiful in her wedding day. Laura and Kevin are such a wonderful couple. They have the cutest daughter Paige that was so excited for the wedding in her pink tutu. Is there something sweeter than that?
Everything was perfect and gorgeous, I knew it would be because I know Laura's taste and organizational skills. She is really the best!

I first photographed Ashleigh a couple years ago and was so impressed by her beauty and confidence. When she contacted me before I went to Victoria I was more than happy to have her in front of my camera again. Candice is a vibrant gorgeous girl. It is impossible to be in the same room as her and not be totally charmed by her smile. She has such a beautiful face and it was a breeze to photograph her at the B&B Fairholme Manor in Victoria, last month. Candice is getting married next year and the lucky groom is getting super sexy pictures as a gift. I had so much fun photographing her in many outfits. Her make up was amazing and her super long hair was just perfect for the occasion. It was a great day with awesome light and so much beauty!

I love shooting boudoir because it is always fun. Aleah is not just gorgeous she is super cool and confident. It was very hard to choose the pictures for the blog post, because there were so many cool shots and Aleah was looking amazing in pretty much all pics.
I did some boudoir shots for four amazing girls last month in Victoria. I started shooting Aleah, who was just incredibly beautiful. The B&B Fairholme Manor was a perfect background to frame those girls. We had all the afternoon to dress up, shoot and enjoy the amazing surroundings. There is more to come from the photo shoot at the B&B!

Julie and Adam had an amazing wedding and I have no words to describe how very happy I was to be part of their special day. Julie and I went to the same photography school and she worked with Christina and I at Funkytown. I don't need even to mention that Julie is an amazing photographer and Adam is one of the sweetest people I know.
Everything was really special about Julie and Adam's wedding, there were so many friends that helped make Bush Party a reality. It was the cutest and one the most authentic wedding I ever photographed. Everybody had a blast and fun was the word of the day. My dear and talented friend Christina Craft captured the day with me and did the most amazing work. There were some tears and a lot of laughs, delicious food and so much love. I could write way more cool things about this couple and this cool wedding but hey, I have pictures to show! Brittany and Jeff were married in Halifax and I had so much fun during this wedding. As Brittany told me before, the wedding party was very cool and they were so happy for the young couple. Brittany and Jeff live in Red Deer, Alberta, but they decided to tie the knot in Halifax where Jeff is from. The flower girl and the ring bearer made me laugh so many times, specially when he found the DJ's payment before the wedding. Priceless!
The ceremony and reception were held at the Delta Halifax and we did their pictures at beautiful Point Pleasant Park. They were so happy and upbeat. Many thanks to my fabulous husband Al who shot this cute wedding with me. We wish Brittany and Jeff all the happiness in the world!

There is no doubt that Danny and Heather are in love! After 5 years of marriage and a super cute son Keeagan they decided to dress up to celebrate their anniversary . Heather is a local artist and she creates the most fabulous hats and costumes. Actually Heather and Danny love to dress up in costumes and do it as often as they can. Their anniversary was the perfect excuse to get all their friends together and trow a fabulous tea party inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Everything was pretty and whimsical. Heather designed many of the hats and everybody loved helping with the details and decoration. She wore the same wedding dress that fit perfectly and looked as gorgeous as she did 5 years ago. I wish all the happiness in the world to Heather, Danny and Keeagan!

I love shooting boudoir sessions and I always wanted to shoot one outside. This time I worked with beautiful Kaitlin Knox who literally rocked every frame. I had such a good time photographing Shannon and Douglas at Highlands Village Museum. Cape Breton has so much history and such intense beauty. Shannon and Douglas were lucky enough to grow up there. Pam and Jack had a fabulous wedding in St. Maarten. So many friends and family flew there to celebrate Pam's and Jack's big day. Jack, who just graduated from Medical School, was beyond happy to be marrying beautiful Pamela in one of the most gorgeous spots of the Island. The celebration started with a super fun tour on board the catamaran Tango. It was a night with so much dancing and happiness. Everybody had such a great time. Back to land we headed for more fun around some pubs in the island.
Pam and Jack had their ceremony at the exclusive La Samanna Resort and the reception at the Bleu Passion Villas. Everything was really amazing! Thank you Jack and Pam for making me part of your special day.

Vikki and Kevin are one of the sweetest couples I have ever photographed. Their wedding was cute and full of friends and family love. They love chemistry and are as smart as they are good looking. Their party had a very cool science inspired theme and an amazing band set the tone for the evening. The Canadian Museum Immigration at Pier 21 offered such a great setting for the wedding of such an unique couple. I was specially happy during this wedding because my husband Al shot it with me. I had a fantastic time photographing Kelsey Doolaar. The Vivid Hair team did an amazing job on Kelsey's hair and make up. She looked really fashionable and edgy. We found the most perfect locations to shoot, including an abandoned house. Kelsey was upbeat and ready for everything. It was her first time modeling, but nobody could tell. She was super professional and I'm so excited to share her pictures. Kelsey teaches math, science and french. How cool is having a teacher that look as awesome as that?
I love Kelsey's hair and the fabulous Thomas Melong is the one to blame. He is an award winning hair stylist and it was a treat to work with him again. I was excited to be part of the Junior Touch Football Jamboree yesterday. It was great to meet all the kids at the Highland Soccer Complex in Stellarton. Amanda is so beautiful and I was really excited to photograph her again. I worked with her and Colin on their wedding day and I had so much fun. So I knew this session would be super cool. Everything was cool about the photoshoot I had today. I had so much fun photographing Heather Polson. I don't even need to mention how brave she was! She looked so beautiful all the time even if the temperature was below zero. And it was windy too!
Besides having a wonderful model I had so much help for this photoshoot. Thomas Melong and Laura Anderson from Vivid Hair were in charge of styling her hair. Heather did her own make up. With help of my sewing teacher Bertha from Fashion and Fabrics I sew the dress!!! Al, very strong carrying everything around including the model!
It was all worth it because I'm so happy with those images. This is just a little teaser. There is more to come!

I had a very sweet portrait session with Wenfei. This college student may be the cutest girl on campus. She is tiny and very gracious and she definitely has the prettiest outfits ever. Ruffled skirts, laces and bows are just part of her daily dressing routine. Isn't she the walking definition of CUTE?

I was so happy when I was contacted by the Carpenter Magazine to do an editorial shooting in Antigonish. That was fun and I had a great time photographing,Ronnie Smith, John Gary Bennett, Danny McKenna and Cathy Pike. My super cute niece Mariana

This cutie is my awesome niece Mariana. She lives in Germany and I have no doubt she is the cutest face in Munich! It was so fun to hang with her during the Holidays. She is an amazing kid very articulate and so charming and it is impossible not to fall in love with her. Mariana was a bit cold on Christmas eve but that didn't slow her down. She was full of energy and ready to open her gifts. I don't need to say that she had a blast! So did everybody! Her favorite gift was a dog bed, yes she loves dogs, specially her pet labs Preta and Cacau. She sometimes refers to them as her brother and sister. How adorable is that? But she was sad that she didn't have a bed like theirs, so she got one! Mariana, also known by her dog name Fifi, is the cutest thing ever. Too bad we can't see her very often, we miss her like crazy!

Vikki and Kevin engagement

I was so pleased to get to know Kevin and Vikki better during their engagement session last Sunday at Mont Pleasant in Halifax. They chose the location because they love walking their dogs Zeta and Zephyr there. But the Mount Pleasant Park is also very special place to them because it and was there that Kevin popped the question last September.
They are such a sweet couple and our time in the park was great. Snow is always a great background and just to finish the shooting in great style Kevin helped a lost dog find his owner. How cool is that?
Vikki and Kevin are getting married next May at Pier 21 and I can't wait until their big day!

Cool family chilling out!

Pretty cold weather and snow didn't stop this super cool family from taking their family portraits last Saturday in Antigonish. Jo-Anne, Albrey, Blair, Jarret , Jill ,and Laura were a super fun group and they kept the good humor even if it was freezing outside. They were up to anything and it was really fun for me to see how people can endure harsh weather in name of family love! Orla is a brilliant student and she is super happy to have a very special new piece of jewelery: the X Ring! To capture some memories of this important time we had a fun photo session last Sunday. I had so much fun last Saturday photographing this super cool family in Antigonish. Jacob is one of Erico's (my son) best friends and we really enjoy having him around. During the football season this year I had the pleasure to hang out with Jodi and Jordon a lot watching the games and cheering for the Renegades. I have to say Jordon became one of my favorite persons ever! Jody has been super supportive and is always cheering me up. So I do love this family!
Jordan and Jacob are really sweet boys and they didn't even complain when Jodi showed up to the photoshoot with a bag full of wigs! They were such good sports and I just had a blast! It was raining a bit, but the pictures turned out super cool, we barely noticed the bad weather. Thank you Jodi, Jacob and Jordon for being so much fun!

This is the last wedding I'm posting this year and I couldn't be happier to be part of Beatriz and Sam's special day. I was second shooting for my BFF Christina Craft and I had a blast. Renegades rock!

I'm not exactly a sports photographer but I have to confess that I had a lot of fun photographing the game between the Highland Renegades and the Panthers yesterday in Sidney, NS. Since my son Erico joined the Renegades in Antigonish I developed a soft spot for this sport, even if it hurts! The game was really exciting and both teams did an excellent job. We ended up losing, but will have a chance to even the score when we play the Panthers again next Saturday in Port Hawkesbury.

This little blond cutie is Shelby daughter of our friend Shannon. Since she was born I was crazy to meet her, but just when we moved to the East Coast Shelby and Shannon moved back from Halifax to Victoria. So we were in the other side of Canada again!
During my trip to BC this summer to photograph weddings, we were able to set some time to chat and take some pictures of this super special girl. Shelby likes to be called Sunny Lizard. Which is the cutest thing! She has such a personality! Very articulate and charming she just owned this photoshot. I was lucky to spend some time with Shannon and Shelby and I can't wait to get together them again! Hopefully soon!

Linz and Cam

Linz and Cameron had a very romantic wedding at Saxe Point in Victoria. Lindsay and Cam are one of the sweetest couple I've ever meet. aI was so impressed by how they handled their wedding because two days before the event they sold their apartment and Kelowna. Well, lets talk about pressure here!!! More last minute things happened as well but they kept smiling and making sure everyone was felling great and comfortable. They organized the whole wedding and had a wonderful backyard party full of friends and awesome food. I saw tears and laughter and so much love being shared during their whole day! I have to make a space to cheer their wedding party as well. They helped me so much that we even had time for a coffee after the portraits. So we chilled out a bit before the ceremony at the Serious Coffee at Esquilmalt. You know that doesn't happen very often!
I had an amazing time with them and I'm so excited to share their pictures today!

Desirae and Justin

Desirae and Justin's wedding was wonderful! They are not just super sweet but they were lots of fun to work with. They live in Calgary but decided to have their wedding in Victoria. There were so many cool things about this wedding. Desirae wrote a journal about their relationship and Justin's Mon used some of Desirae's words for her speech. Very romantic! Their vows were amazing and really touching. Desirae was beautiful on her wedding dress and her shining Jimmy Choo shoes. Justin had a great idea for his groom's man getting ready pictures, he is a photography enthusiast and I loved it, I will be posting those pictures soon!
But what I want to say is that everybody that attended this wedding fell a bit in love with Desirae and Justin, including me! Congratulations Desirae and Justin and I'm so glad to share your pictures with you, your friends and family!

Ashley and Geoff

Ashley and Geoff had their wedding at the Laurel Point in Victoria. I was so glad to be part of their special day. Ashley is naturally gorgeous and looked like she was ready for the red carpet in her wedding dress. Melanie Baird did her make up and we both were amazed by how cool and relaxed Ashley was the whole time. Geoff and Ashley are together for a while and the fact that they were high school sweet hearts made the day even more romantic. They are so in love and they are much loved by their family and friends. I have to say it was hard not to cry during the speeches. Everything was so mellow and cozy until the party started. WOW!!! If somebody knows how to party it is this crowd! I don't need to say that I had a blast. I love parties with a lot of dancing and fun. I little ps to say that the spot light on the dance floor just fed my "lighting" cravings and I could not be happier to share this post with Ashley and Geoff. You guys rocked! That was an amazing wedding! Congratulations.

Tariq and Nicole Trashing the Dress

After a stint in Victoria, where I visited my bff Christina and shot many weddings I'm back to my blog posts. I'm a little behind but glad to post this super cool trashing the dress.
Nicole and Tariq's trashing session was done in one of most the most beautiful places ever. The light was great as well and I had one more day to enjoy the company of this wonderful couple. The first part was done at Nicole's family property in Inverness and then we headed to a beach close by. Nicole and Tariq were great and I miss them already!

Mandy and Fernando

I was so glad to get back to Victoria for Mandy's and Fernando's wedding. The wedding was fun and this couple was great. Fernando is from Colombia and it was so nice that the ceremony and all the speeches were in English and Spanish. This lovely couple met at Cafe Casablanca when they were practicing Salsa. It was love at first dance and to celebrate, they invited the Casablanca instructors to give a class to the guests! Everybody danced and I had such a great time. Congratulations, Mandy and Fernando. Nicole and Tariq

Nicole and Tariq had the coolest wedding in Inverness, Cape Breton and I was lucky enough to be there. The wedding was fun and full of beautiful people. Nicole had the cutest wedding dress and Tariq came all the way from Jamaica to say I do in one of the most beautiful place I have ever seen!
The preparations and ceremony happened at Sylvia's house, a very special place to Nicole. Sylvia was Nicole's grandmother's friend and was super happy to share her house and her stunning backyard for the ceremony. Later we headed to Nicole's family property for some photos and the reception. Congratulations Nicole and Tariq,it was a pleasure to photograph your wedding!

Adele and John Trashing the Dress

I had my first local family shoot this week in Antigonish! I was so happy to meet the McCarthy family. Andrea, Andy, Rosalie, Shannon and Terrance were fun to photograph but the star of the photoshoot was baby Ryker.
He was such a cute little thing and even if he is teething, he was super cool. It was hard to keep the pebbles out of reach, he wanted to try them all! His sandals were also on the menu!
Andrea and her husband Andy came all the way from Edmonton to visit her mom, who lives in a cottage with such a wonderful views. The perfect place for little Ryker to enjoy many, many summer vacations!

Adele and John are such a sweet couple. They were married in Varadero, Cuba and I was so happy to be part of their special day. They were easy going and their happiness was really inspiring. Adele was so beautiful on her wedding dress and she really couldn't stop smiling! Adele's and John's family and friends were warm and I did feel I was between old friends during the whole event. Trashing the Dress Los Cabos Mexico

Working with Michelle and Phil was really awesome. We did a trashing the dress session on the day after the wedding. Michelle had her make up done again and did she ever look stunning! We were photographing around the hotel and waited until the sun was a bit down to head to the beach and swimming pool. Everything was hot about this session, starting with this handsome couple and the sizzling Mexico weather!
Trashing the dress is one of my favorite things to do. I love it because it can be done without the pressures of the wedding day. It is totally worth it!
This is the last post of Michelle and Phil's wedding. They are having a reception in Las Vegas soon and I wish them all the best!

Michelle and Phil wedding was so fun! The couple was so happy and they have a super romantic ceremony. Michelle was so beautiful on her wedding dress. One of the most photogenic people that I ever photographed. She looks so gorgeous in all the portraits that was hard to choose some for this post. The wedding party was fabulous and the reception was just perfect, lots of dancing, fun and shots!
After the party we had a second party around the bonfire with hot dogs, smores and more fun for everyone. Congratulations Phil and Michelle for this great day.

Michelle & Phil's Rehearsal in Cabo, Mexico - Sneak Peek

Michelle and Phil had a fabulous wedding in Los Cabos, Mexico. It was the perfect backdrop for this awesome couple. We stayed at the wonderful Zoestry Casa del Mar. After all the guests (including myself) received a fabulous gift bag with loads of handmade super useful items we headed to the wedding rehearsal. After spending just 10 minutes with their guests
I knew I was among friends and had the feeling that this would be a weekend to remember. Later we had the rehearsal dinner and because Michelle and Phil live in Las Vegas, the theme was Casino Night. It was fun, lots of laughs, great food, and nice company. The wedding pictures and trashing the dress are coming soon, and I can' t wait to share those memorable moments with everybody!

Tim and Chelsey - Trashing the dress

We had a trashing the dress session for Chelsey and Tim. Because they were traveling soon after and a wet wedding dress would be too heavy to take in a flight, Chelsey preferred to have a session with this super cute summer dress. It was a sunny day and I had a great time photographing those guys at this stunning beach! As I said before they were super fun to work with and I miss them already!

Chelsey and Tim - Cayman Island

Chelsey and Tim wedding was such incredible fun! Not only they were the most laid back couple ever, they also were happy and very much in love. The setting was the beautiful Cayman Island and we got luck and had the most wonderful sunsets. After the sun was down the party went on and they know how to have a good time!
Chelsey was beautiful on her wedding dress and Tim couldn't be more elegant. I have to say that Tim must be the best jumper of all the grooms alive!
Besides Chelsey and Tim being so lovely, their family and friends made me feel welcome and at the end of the weekend I felt like I was part of the family.
Thank you so much Chelsey, Tim and the whole gang for making my work such a pleasure.

I have no words to describe how cool Tamara and Brad are. This was
my last photoshot before I moved to the maritimes and it couldn't have been more fun. Tamara is a fan of the Twilight movie so we tried to create mood to resemble some of the scenes. I don't need to tell you that there were lots of passers-by who stopped what they were doing to watch us do this shoot. LOL. Thank you Brad and Tamara for making my work so easy!!

Indrani and Jason's wedding at the Brentwood Bay Lodge was my last wedding of this season and I have to say it was one of the most fun weddings ever. Although it was poring rain all morning we had a little break just for the pictures. We found a farm close to Brentwood Bay to shoot their portraits and that amazing
barn framed thesese two just perfectly. Jason's groomsman had so much energy that we knew right there that the reception would be a great big party. And boy they did know how to party!!! After the first dance the guys performed " Thriller" and it was impressive how they had all the moves. It was pleasure to work with Indrani and Jason - they were such a sweet couple! Thank you guys for including us as part of your day!

We've broken up the blog posts into two. This one will feature the portraits and the other one will feature the photojournalism moments. :)

Kelli and I had so much fun photographing Christina and Wayne's wedding in Parksville. Christina and Wayne were together for 22 years and they decided to tie the knot last month and it was one of the most relaxed weddings I have ever attended. They couldn't have found a better spot to get married. The beach was so beautiful and we didn't mind the wind at all, it made the dress flow! Christina choose such a wonderful wedding dress and Wayne was super elegant. When we were leaving they told us they were camera shy, but really we couldn't tell because these two rocked the photoshoot! Thank you Chistina and Wayne for including us in your day. We had an awesome time at your wedding!

Qionna and Jay were married at the Royal Colwood Golf course here in Victoria, and what a beautiful day they picked. The sky was great with tons of clouds...a perfect day to frame this awesome couple. I was totally impressed by how laid back they were and so easy to direct. Qionna was beyond stunning and Jay (I have to say) is one of the nicest guys I have ever photographed. Kelli and I couldn't help but love to work with them. When I was preparing the pictures for this blog post I found a thank you card from Qionna and Jay under the studio door telling how cool was having us at their wedding. It totally made my day! Thank you Qionna and Jay not just because you guys made our work so easy but because we felt like part of your family during your wedding.

Eunice writes: I was so happy to photograph Amie and Justin's wedding last month. Besides the fact they were relaxed and super fun to work with, Amie and Justin
gave me all the freedom I wanted to shot their wedding. We went to the parkade on View Street to get some colorful shots near the elevator. The parkade was pretty much empty and we could explore and do some cool shots in there. I was also thrilled to get some shots at the Star Wars panel (big fan here!) and inside the movie theater. Amie and Justin were looking like movie stars under that dramatic light that I love so much. The end of our shoot couldn't be better, an awesome sunset at the Esquilmalt dock. Lucky me to have clients like this couple! Cheers and thank you Amie and Justin for allowing us to be part of your day and many thanks to the team of Cineplex Odeon Victoria!
