Dacia and Brant are getting married in August and we are really looking forward to their funky wedding (which will have a black and white theme). I'm glad we were able to arrange an engagement session when they were in town for just one short day last week. These two are a ton of fun to work with and were totally willing to try anything. I didn't even have to give directions... these guys are awesome models! Dacia & Brant - I can't wait to see you guys again in a few weeks (it's coming up fast)!

Nagu & Colm

A couple of weeks ago we had the pleasure of photographing Nagu & Colm's beautiful Hindu ceremony at the Sooke Harbour House. Their friends and family - and even their priest - came from all over Canada to be with them on their special day. Hindu weddings are supposed to take place outside under a canopy and that's exactly how they were married - on an amazingly gorgeous bright sunny day! The event was a magical feast for the eyes. Hindu ceremonies vary from celebration to celebration and Nagu & Colm chose several traditional elements - including Sanskrit verses, a fire ceremony and 'Saptapadi' or seven steps. When it came time for the ring exchange, they chose to honour Colmn's Irish ancestry with beautiful Celtic bands. Nagu & Colm are an extremely nice couple and all of their friends and family were so welcoming and happy. These two look so good in photographs that it was very difficult to choose just a few highlights for our blog. Congratulations Nagu & Colmn - we felt privileged to be a part of your day!

Andrea & Prashant

We are so excited to photograph Prashant and Andrea's wedding on Friday and Saturday. They are having a Hindu and a western ceremony and we know it is going to be super fun. We had a very relaxed engagement session and we were able to take advantage of some of my favorite urban backdrops around downtown Victoria. There were so many great pictures of these two that was hard to choose just a few to put on our blog. Congratulations Andrea & Prashant - we can't wait until this weekend!

I had the pleasure of photographing Taryn & Doug's wedding with the fabulous Kira Nelson this May. I was away for a couple of days and when I came back Taryn had dropped of a really nice thank you note and gift certificates for us to the best restaurant in town - Cafe Brio! Letters like this are just one of the many reasons we love our jobs so much. Thanks Kira for teaming up with me and thanks Taryn & Doug for being so fantastic to work with!
